As a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher my focus is on precision and alignment of the body to work safely, balance to build strength and confidence, and the sequence I plan for each class will be different. This means you’ll progress through a range of asanas to help develop your flexibility, strength and wellbeing, and each class ends with a soothing relaxation.
My classes are suited to beginners as well as those who have an established yoga practice. And in every class I will guide you to achieve your potential.
See the classes and retreats I offer. I look forward to welcoming you!

Benefits of yoga
Iyengar Yoga is well known for its benefits. Not only on a physical level but also to calm the mind and enhanced our wellbeing. Suitable for everyone, yoga can help:
- Enhance your posture
- Increase your strength, stamina and flexibility
- Improve the circulation of blood and oxygen around the body
- Promote better sleep
- Alleviate aches and pains
- Improve memory focus, concentration and balance
- Reduce stress, anxiety and relieve emotions
In an Iyengar class, we also use ‘props’ such as blocks, blankets and belts to help our practice. Used for a specific reason, the use of props can help to enable support to improve the comfort, direction and time spent in a pose, or aid faster recovery from an injury. Using supports correctly really can enhance our practice, improve alignment and help you to achieve your full potential.
About B.K.S Iyengar 1918-2014
The Iyengar method of yoga is named after B.K.S Iyengar who is credited with bringing yoga to the West. Internationally recognised and respected, he made yoga accessible and relevant to everyone, Through his own self study and mastery he wrote the classic yoga textbook, which is today used by millions of practitioner and teachers, called ‘Light on Yoga’. Today his family, under the guidance of his granddaughter Abhijata Iyengar continue to run the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India.
Iyengar Yoga is one of the most widely performed methods of yoga worldwide and all accredited teachers of Iyengar Yoga (IYA UK) use the certification mark, which is an indication of the highest quality training and attainment achieved in yoga.
